Flaine is a popular resort located in the Grand Massif domain of Haute-Savoie. Located at 1,600m in altitude it is a snow-sure destination with a superb snow record and an extensive ski domain which also covers Les Carroz, Samoens, Morillon and Sixt. The resort was designed and built in the 1960's and has recently seen heavy investment with further redevelopment planned for 2008/2009. Flaine is not just about the winter months, there is a lively summer season for walkers, cyclists and paragliders plus an 18 hole golf course set at 1,850m in altitude. The resort is pedestrianised and property owners and visitors are able to unload at their property before parking in one of the many available car parks on the outskirts of the resort. This ensures that all amenities are easy to reach on foot and there are a number of lifts operating between the different levels of apartment residences and commercial centres. There is excellent rental potential in both winter and summer in Flaine and this destination looks set to become one of the key property hot spots of Haute-Savoie over the next couple of years.
